Booyami, a Seattle area startup that streamlines aspects of the banking process, has raised a $1.2 million funding round and today announced the acquisition of BBI Financial.

Booyami operates two entities: BBC Easy, which automates the lending process for businesses, and Finagraph, which builds financial intelligence software.

The company on Thursday acquired BBI Financial, a Seattle-based financial services firm that offers training programs for bankers and business owners. The BBI Financial team will move into Booyami’s offices and help bolster the Finagraph product.

BBI Financial will continue to offer the same educational content and its team will stay intact.

“The only difference is now we will be using the Finagraph software to take our company to the next level,” BBI Financial founder Kyle Enger said in a statement.

Booyami was founded by James Walter and Corey Ross in August 2010. Walter spent seven years at Microsoft working on Xbox and Windows 7. Before that, the computer science grad from the University of Alaska ran the engineering and IT groups for the venture-backed startup MidStream Technologies. Ross is a former vice president at Banner Bank and Bank of America.

The $1.2 million round comes from various angel investors and pushes today funding for Booyami past $2 million.
